Why our parents (and grandparents!) love River Farm Forest School
I have two kids here, and it is an excellent school. The kids love being in nature for part of every day and learn a lot during classroom instruction (probably because they can get their energy under control while outside). The staff are really great.
- B.Y., Upper Elementary and Middle School Parent
We love River Farm Forest School because the school meets children where they are. We noticed a change in our daughter’s attitude toward learning — she took ownership of her own process and was excited to share it with us at home. River Farm also offers a learning environment that is peaceful and an hour of recess and time in the forest daily.
- A.K., Upper Elementary Parent
River Farm Forest School’s programs encourage each student to express themselves and meet their challenges. Our granddaughter has gained confidence in herself and her abilities in this nurturing environment.
- L.D., Upper Elementary Grandparent
Why our teachers love River Farm Forest School
At RFFS, our students have a rich and varied learning experience. We take deep dives into social studies, science, math, and language arts based on children's interests, teachers' knowledge, and the topics we come across during the school year that spark our interests. Specialty classes in movement and music provide our students with the opportunity to express themselves artistically while exposing our students to other cultures. Our largest classroom is the forest. As one would expect, the forest provides us with many opportunities to study science and nature. The forest also provides endless opportunities for exploring, practicing cooperation and team work, and engaging in imaginative play.
